Mission Complete - Guest Post By KnitMama

The Mission - Cheer up the world, one yarn bombing at a time.

The Knitting Kninjas came up with a plan to get the ball rolling on this mission.  We needed to yarn bomb a busy, public location.

Place - Confederation Park, Peterborough, ON (for those of you not local to the area, this park is right across from City Hall)

Date - Friday, April 4th, 2014

Time - 7:00

So.. this task is complete... but have we accomplished our mission?  I would say to complete it, we only needed to physical do the plan.  But to accomplish it, we need to have evidence that our plan did indeed bring cheer to the world.  Let's examine the evidence...

Item #1

The group has formed and it's attracted kids and adults... most of the kids are just learning to knit for the very first time in their life... this is a definite source of cheer for the knitting adults in their life... who doesn't get cheered up while seeing an art they love being passed on to the next generation?

Item #2

Friday night, at the park there were seven children and six adults who gathered to yarn bomb together.  During out time together putting up our tags, much laughter was heard, there was excitement in the air... definitely bringing cheer to that group.

Item #3

Last weekend, leading up to the tag and then quite a bit afterwards, there was much messaging, picture sharing and retelling of the adventure going on.... a fun cheerful break from the regular mundane day to day stuff!

Item #4

Sunday, some more members of our group added to the the group tag in the park, while there, they saw people stopping and admiring the tags and taking pictures.... definite evidence that our work is spreading cheer.

Item #5

While KninjaNeedles8 and I were at the park earlier this week taking pictures of the tags in the sunshine, we got stopped by a passerby asking if we had knit them, I quickly just responded with "'We're just taking pictures" (well., we were... we weren't knitting anything right then!), she replied with how fabulous she thought the tags were and how she'd been by earlier to check them all out.  She sounded very upbeat and cheerful about her experience.

Item #6

You.. right now!  You are here, reading our blog.. in anticipation I'm sure of when we're going to reveal to you what our tags look like!  We have cheered up some of our readers!

With all that evidence, I think we can safely assume that we not only completed our mission, but we also accomplished it!

So... this is the last post before KninjaNeedles8 will reveal to the blog world what all our tags look like.  At last count, I believe we had 22 different tags... so.. be prepared to have a smile brought to your face while you see the wonderful creations that she'll share.
