The Big Reveal!

The tag is done!

OK, so, here's where we did our tag:

You'll find out next year.

No? You want to know now? OK, I guess I can tell you.....

It was at......(drum roll please) The Peterborough Public Library!

We've got felted rocks, a fence decoration, and more!  So many that we didn't even end up with pictures of them all!

We did the tag there because the day after the tag, it was the Fifth Annual Fibre Festival in Peterborough, and we wanted to "Fibre" it up!

We also wanted to welcome spring by bringing back some colour to the world!  We did this tag on Friday, March 20th, 2015... the first day of spring!

What we are going to do next?  I don't know,  but we always have some tricks up our sleeve!

You'll have to check back later for more pictures (yes... we still have more to share)!

Watch Out Peterborough - Guest Post By KnitMama

We are so close to the next tag that I just wanted to share a few last teasers.

We have two new Kninja's joining us for this tag.  They spent some time yesterday making these fabulous beauties to place somewhere special (Did you think I was going to tell you??  You'll just have to keep waiting for the reveal!).

These were all made by Stitchy Mama, Superknitter and two new Kninjas who we're waiting to learn their Kninja names

Aren't those just beautiful?

Also, KninjaNeedles8 and I have knit up a few wee pieces to place in the same location.  We're wanting to brighten it up and welcome spring!

After seeing nothing but white all winter... we're ready for some colour!

Hope You Enjoyed World Kindness Day

Has anyone spotted these lovely knit items?  These were all placed in front of the Salvation Army on Simcoe Street in Peterborough, ON last night (November 13th, 2014), by some of our Kninjas.

Alright, let's start at the beginning.  So, you know how we've been talking about the secret part of our plan?  That secret was to knit charity items to use for yarn bombs (we got the idea from this yarn bomb which took place just last year in Ottawa, ON).

We chose to yarn bomb these items in a high traffic area yesterday, just in time for some snowy weather to hit (that was just a coincidence!).  But we did choose the day because it was World Kindness Day... what a better way to spread some kindness!

We've got a selection of hats, mitts, cowls and scarves.  We hope that those in need can find their way to them to use.

And who knows, maybe we'll be leaving more... somewhere... sometime!  You'll have to stay tuned.  If you've been following the story in the past week, you'll know that you've seen pictures of some items that weren't left at the Salvation Army!

I'm Worried About The Tag - Guest Post By Knitting Mermaid

We have a big group tag coming up... soon.  Very soon!

The plan was to make a tag... a long knit piece.

I'm not sure if I will make it:

I need it to be about 15 inches... do you think it will get done on time?

Its Almost Time!!!

We are getting even closer to our second group tag!  We are pretty exited!

The twist we talked about in our  last blog post is still a surprise. We cannot tell you what it is until after the tag.

Here are some more sneak peaks at what you'll see at our next tag.  Any guesses as to what they are?

A New Tag!!!

We are super close our big group tag and us Kninjas are really excited.  We're already making our labels to go with our tags.

Those teasers.. they are part of our our plan.

There is a twist to this yarn bomb though.  But we can only tell you  after  after the yarn bomb!

The Answer To #2

Hi!  A big secret will be revealed today!

Do you remember our last blog post?

Puzzle #1 is still a big secret, but puzzle #2 is yours to hear!

The answer to # 2 is... (drum roll please!) fingerless mitts!  Did any of you think that?

These are intended to fit an adult so I've got them rolled down a bit to fit my hands.
What do fingerless mitts have to do with yarn bombing?  You'll just have to keep posted to find out.

And.. we're going to tease you with more pictures for Puzzle #1.

What could these be???

Lakefield Yarn Bomb

These look like some lovely garden decorations!

Now, you're probably wondering if we made this tag or not. And the answer is... we did not!

And from the other side

Well, let me tell you the story. We were just at the beach.  When we left, we saw a house that had a bunch of yarn bombs!

Look at this bright yarn bomb! It even  has a pom-pom!

This house is located in Lakefield, Ontario.
These are some nice ornaments!

An ornament close up.

It was nice that we got to see the house.  And we chatted with another yarn bomber (who promised to keep our identity a secret!).

Has anyone spotted any yarn bombs in their neighbourhood?

A Double-Tag Day

On the same day that some Knitting Kninjas were in Confederation Park putting up tags, Stitchy Mama and Superknitter had something up their sleeves!

They headed out to Queen Elizabeth School to put up a tag on a tree in the school yard.  They were so sneaky about this.  We didn't know they were planning on doing it until we got the pictures sent to us!

Superknitter trying to remain secretive as he seams up the tag

This probably brightens up the school day for lots of students!

Our Apology

We want to apologize for not doing a blog entry for almost three weeks.  Obviously, this past month has been busier than typical.

We've been doing some activities, getting outside to enjoy some lovely spring weather (has anyone else been doing the 30x30 Nature Challenge?) and Little Knitter has been on the move keeping this knitting household busy.. and keeping us from knitting (and blogging!).

We've got so many things to get caught up on... but for today, we'll just show you the pictures from our big group tag all taken in the daylight.

Check back later this weekend though, we're reveal that surprise we hinted at!
